Teacher Bios

Adiel Issacci has taught Guitar, Piano, and Bass Guitar to students of all ages. He attended Musician's Institute, focusing on guitar and audio engineering. He has been teaching over 5 years and his hobbies include playing guitar, composing, recording, computers, & martial arts. Adiel believes in strong theory, but making the lessons fun & enjoyable for all students. Adiel also helps coordinate Rock Night.

Alex McCormick has taught Guitar,  Bass Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Soprano, Concert, Tenor & Baritone Ukulele, Recorder, Dulcimer, Recorder, and Tinwhistle for over 31 years. He graduated from Musician's Institute with his focus on guitar. He has performed in local clubs including The Classroom, has played in numerous bands, and other local venues, & he has taught at Jasmine's Entertainment in Arleta, CA.   He teaches students of all ages, specializing in all styles of music, focusing on teaching students to become the player they want to be.

Alexander Myers has taught Sax, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, & Piano to students of all ages over 14 years. He was taught as a child by two of the flute players for the VA Symphony. Alexander received his masters in woodwinds from Radford University. Not only does he have his own jazz band, but he has played on Carnival Cruise Lines all over the world. He has also played in The Fuzz Band, opening for many A List bands, and at the Capitol Jazz Festival. Alexander focuses on all of the fundamentals of playing, but gears the lessons towards the music each student wants to learn.

Brian Clements has taught woodwinds including Sax, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, brass including Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone/Euphonum,& Tuba, & strings including Violin, Viola, & Cello, plus Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, & Piano to students of all ages over 6 years. Brian has a formal classical & jazz background & training, but he is able to teach any genre. Brian 1st started as a student here at Musician's Depot when he was 13 years old, & then he went on to pursue a career in music, earning a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance & his Masters in Arts in Teaching from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Brian also earned his teaching credentials including a Music Certificate & a Single Subject K-12 Music Certificate. He has won several awards including, but not limited to, Excellence in Scholarship Research, The National Scholars Honor Society, National Band Awards, & Honors Band Award, Jazz Band. In addition to teaching, he has worked as a performer, composer, & clinician. Brian enjoys teaching & helping foster lifelong learning in students through experiences in music.

Carissa Gibson has been teaching Violin, Viola, Cello, & Piano to students of all ages for over 5 years, & she studied Music Performance at Moorpark College, went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, & currently working on her music Masters degree at Claremont Graduate School. She has played in several orchestras including several youth & college orchestras & then onto performing with groups such as the Golden State Pops Orchestra & the LA Doctors Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed with individuals such as Kat Graham & has recorded several pieces including Identity Concerto at Warner Brothers Studios. She loves to share her talent & love for music with her students & makes each lesson fun & interesting for each student.

Chris Roberts specializes in Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Voice, and Drums/Percussion instruction & has been teaching students music of all ages for over 2 years. Chris was born in Hollywood, but moved to Florida when he was 8 years old & later moved back to CA after receiving his Bachelors of Arts in Music from University of Florida. He also received his Certificate of Music from The Collective School of Music & his Associate of Arts in Music from Santa Fe Community College. Chris has recorded with several groups working in several different genres, & was part of the University of Florida Pit Orchestra with performances for musicals such as Cabaret, Anything Goes, Hello Dolly, & A Funning Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.  He also has taught children martial arts for over 3 years. Chris also helps coordinate Rock Night.

Dave Rosser has taught Guitar, Piano, and Bass Guitar to students of all ages over 5 years. Dave studied at Florida State University, he has recorded guitar & bass guitar on Grammy Nominated Records, & he is a member of the band "A Warrior Nation." Dave is able to address any level of ability, customize a fun & challenging lesson plan for each student, and teach different genres including rock, blues, pop, folk, jazz & classical. Dave also helps coordinate Rock Night.

John Corlis has taught Guitar, Piano, Vocals, & Harmonica to students of all ages for over 11 years. He attended California State University--Northridge, where he received a Bachelor of Music Degree, John also works as a composer having composed scores for many feature films/show such as Still Screaming: The Ultimate Scary Movie Retrospective, Innocent Bystanders (His Name Was Jason): 30 Years of Friday the 13th, Prank, Halloween: The Shape of Horror, Death By Engagement, Gold Mine, & many more. John teaches all the fundamentals & theory necessary for learning an instrument, but makes each lesson fun & exciting, focusing on what each student wants to learn.

Justin Ashouri has been teaching Guitar, Bass Guitar, Mandolin, Trumpet, Drums Piano, & Voice for over 4 years. He has performed on Sunset Blvd as well as starring in a few shows on MTV. He graduated from CSUN, he is currently majoring in Music at Pierce College, and he will be transfering to M.I. to continue his education. Justin also volunteers in choirs and other recreational activities in his community. He has unique goals for each of his students, and he understands that everyone has their own way of learning and adjusts accordingly. Justin always makes sure the student can voice his or her opinion during the lesson and is able to play what they want in addition to the basics of what they have been learning.

Ken Shima has been teaching Guitar, Piano, Voice, & Trumpet for over 2 years. He started attending music classes when he was 4 years old & playing piano when he turned 6 years old. Ken studied at the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in addition to taking private lessons for several years for piano, voice, trumpet, & guitar. He also was the Choir President at Beaverton High School, & he received recognition for 2nd Tenor in the Oregon All State Choir. Ken loves bring his musicianship skills and music knowledge to teach students in fun and interactive ways.

Kristin Thora Haraldsdottir has been teaching Guitar, Bass Guitar, Violin, Viola, Cello, Recorder, Piano, & Voice for over 7 years. She studied improvisation, jazz studides & choir conduction at Reyjavik in Iceland, earned her BA in Musicology & Music Pedagoy from the Aalborg University in Denmark, her ABRSMdip in Vocal Performance at the Reyjavik Academy of Singing and Vocal Arts in Iceland, her BMus in Viola performance & composition from the Iceland Academy of the Arts, & her MFA in Performer/Composer & Integrated Media from the CA Insititute of the Arts. She motivates & encourages her students through establishing manageable goals that improve their technique, musicality, self-esteem, & initiative. She believes making learning fun is extremely important, & she teaches various musical styles & tailors her methods & repertoire to the individual needs & wishes of her students.

Lemar Guillary has taught Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium/Baritone, Tuba, & Piano to students of all ages for over 5 years & has been playing for over 20 years. Lemar received his BA in Jazz & Contemporary Music from The New School For Jazz in New York, & he has taught at places such as the Frank Sinatra School of Music & is a teaching assistant at the Bosco Tech Hight School & USC Trojan Marching Band. He has also worked with well-known artists such as Jennifer Hudson & Robin Thicke. Lemar focuses on all of the fundamentals of each instruments, but he also teaches several different genres from classical to jazz to modern rock/pop music & enjoys making the lessons fun & interesting for each student, instlling in each student tools for success that go beyond the world of music.

Tigran Nersisyan has been teaching Violin, Viola, Cello, Piano, Voice, & Guitar to students of all ages for over 15 years, & he received his Master's degree in Music Performance from The Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan, Armenia, & his Bachelor of Music from Babajanyan State Music College. In addition to teaching, he has performed & recorded with several orchestras, & has composed & arranged several pieces including his own album. He is a highly educated individual who enjoys sharing his knowledge and expertise with students interested in learning.

Tyler Mays has been teaching Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, and Drums/Percussion for over 5 years. He specializes in percussion & has been playing Drums for 11 years. He attended California State University—Northridge and has studied under Aaron Smith, John Magnussen, and Larry Perpoli. Tyler teaches many styles of percussion, including Rock Drumming, Marching Percussion, Classical/Concert Percussion, & Latin Percussion. He places an emphasis on reading music, technical facility, and musicality, but gears the lessons towards the style of music each student wants to learn. Tyler also helps out with Rock Night.
